I tried to post this three time in the last hour and the post didn't get thru on a T1 line!!! What the f$$$!!! Nice day yesterday going 5-1 +36.95 units in the college football and 4-0-1 +22.00 units in the college hoops (9-1-1 +58.95 units!!!) Here are today plays.
10 Units Michigan State -12.5 -110
Michigan State plays great defense and has a nice hometown advantage here. The DePaul (LY: 16-13 SU, 14-15 ATS) Blue Demons are rebuilding behind 6'-6" Delonte Holland (averaging 19 ppg), newcomer guard Reggie Brown (16 ppg) and Quemont Greer. DePaul hasn't been tested much, with a couple of 12-point wins over Loyola Chicago and Northwestern, and a 78-66 win over Indiana State yesterday. Quemont Greer had 18 points and Delonte Holland had 16 to lead DePaul over Indiana State. But they don't have the height to deal with a physical Michigan State team and this will easily be DePaul's toughest test. Michigan State returns just about everyone from a 22-13 SU, 18-15 ATS season. The Spartans got a touch of reality on Tuesday when they lost to Kansas 81-74, but they bounced back with an easy win yesterday over Penn, 77-52. Leading scorer 6'-11" Paul Davis is the type of low post threat that DePaul simply can't contain. Also, Michigan State will be able to take advantage of a soft DePaul perimeter defense that allowed Indiana State to shoot 10-for-21 from 3-point range yesterday!!!!
7 Units Delaware -5 -109
Yes, it's a long road trip for San Francisco, from the West Coast to the East. The Dons are 2-3 and have had a tough start because of an injury to their best player, 6’-5” senior John Cox (out for 4 weeks with a knee injury). 6-3” junior Javon Harris has stepped up on offense and a pair of newcomers (JC transfers) are working the boards in 6-7” senior James Bayless and 6’-7” junior Tyrone Riley. They've also lost two in a row with poor defense, losing 66-59 to Richmond and 72-51 at SW Missouri State. The Delaware Blue Hens (2-0) have had two easy games, but match up well here with senior guard Mike Ames and Calvin Smith leading the way. Delaware went 9-5 SU/4-9 ATS at home last season where they played good defense (66 ppg allowed). They should be able to handle the road-weary Dons who are missing their best senior!!!
5 Units Iowa State -10 -108
Northern Iowa 6'-6" center David Gruber and 6'-7" Matt Schneiderman team to give UNI solid post play and rebounding strength. This is still a young team, however. There needs to be more balanced scoring as well, as the starters accounted for 54.4 of the 65.3 points the team averaged last season. First time out for Iowa State coming off a 17-14 SU, 10-12 ATS mark a year ago. Trouble is brewing for the Cyclones who must rely on new talent to bolster the depth needed to run the fast-paced attack preferred by new coach Wayne Morgan. One plus is that guard Jake Sullivan is maybe the top 3-point threat in the conference after averaging 17.0 points and shooting 41.9 percent from beyond the arc last season. The disciplinary action taken to suspend PG Tim Barnes and F Jackson Vroman leaves the Cyclones without a couple of valuable veterans, though both were streaky players. Iowa State is left to fill some spots and create playing time for unproven players. Still, Iowa State won 63-54 as a 13 point favorite LY over Northern Iowa. Jake Sullivan will be much too much inside for No Illinois to handle once again in a defensive battle!!!
3 Units CS Northridge +14.5 -104
Cal State Northridge (1-1) lost its only road game, 81-70 at Loyola Marymount as a +2 dog. They match up well with USC with 6'-6" junior F Ian Boylan, 6'-6" Eto Onyenegecha and 6'-9" junior returner Chris Davis up front. The Matadors were 5-11 SU in away games (9-7 ATS) last season. Even with all five starters returning USC (LY: 13-17 SU) tripped coming out of the starting gate losing to Western Michigan, 83-65. The Trojans' depth is very good with guard Desmon Farmer, Rodrick Stewart and center Rory O'Neil (15 points the last game). Northridge matches up well here and got the cover in an 86-77 defeat at Pac 10 Oregon last year as a +21 dog!!!
Good luck today my friends,
